I wanted to share with you a bit about why we produced our summer checking out program.
For me, it was since of my students.

Throughout the years of mentor in my private learning center, parents would bring their children to me that were behind in reading and spelling.

Sometimes they were just a little bit behind, in some cases they were way behind, and sometimes they were at grade level and simply wished to progress quicker.
Sometimes this was because the trainees had discovering problems like dyslexia and ADHD. Other times, this was simply because the teachers did not teach all of the specific skills needed to read.
There is a science-proven, detailed manner in which all kids can prosper with reading. Unfortunately, teachers themselves frequently are not taught how to teach kids in this way.

The issue was that I was just able to see them for an hour at a time and only two times a week.
How could I get these students' skills up while not just providing a band-aid option?
Conventional tutors typically simply deal with homework. Regrettably, this does not resolve the root cause of trainees' troubles and does not actually get their abilities up.

I found that teaching through our senses (hearing, seeing, and doing) improved their reading and spelling abilities much faster. It did not matter if they had finding out obstacles or if they were just merely seeking to advance much faster.
I put together a program of these findings into short 5-20 minute day-to-day activities that I could do with my students.
It wasn't long prior to my trainees and parents began seeing significant results. Students that were behind by 1-2 years frequently got up to grade level in 2-4 months.
Educators started to ask what I was finishing with these kids. Moms and dads wanted to know what the magic sauce was.

The program does take some involvement from a moms and dad for grades K-2, however for grades 3-8, a lot of kids can do most activities in the program on their own.
